Serenity Psycho-Social Support and Wellness Services is calling on the community’s singers, dancers, performers and emerging stars to take centre stage at a High Tea Talent Show at Nowers High School on Saturday, September 26.
The event is not only about raising funds, but also about creating a platform where up-and-coming performers can showcase their talents, gain exposure, and potentially open the door to future opportunities and bookings.
A stage for the next big star
According to Serenity, there is no shortage of talent in the community – but many talented people simply need someone to give them an opportunity.
The organisers also hope the event will expose guests to different talents and passions that could inspire, entertain or even lead to new connections.
High tea, entertainment and community
The cover charge is R100 per person, which includes a seat, high tea treats and refreshments.
Rather than focusing on individual spectator tickets, Serenity is encouraging guests to book tables of 10, creating an opportunity for families, friends, colleagues and community groups to enjoy the afternoon together.
The organisers are also inviting a limited number of snack vendors to be part of the event.
Nobody should miss out
Serenity acknowledges that R100 may be difficult for some people to afford and is appealing to potential sponsors to help make tickets available to those who would otherwise not be able to attend.
“If you cannot afford the R100, feel free to chat to me, and we will try to get the cover charge sponsored,” said Serenity representative Alene Edson Smith.
